On 2 August 2010, the government has issued Decree 85/2010/ND-CP stipulating for administrative sanctions in securities and stock exchange.
The Decree includes 5 chapters and 54 articles. Part 9 of chapter 2 details the violations in relation to the audit of issuers, listed companies, and security trading organizations. Accordingly, audit firms and auditors might be fined from 30 millions to 100 millions VND for violations as detailed in this Decree. Other administrative sanctions could be temporary suspension or permanent withdrawal of audit practicing license.
